Born and raised in San Diego, CA. Norm studied Architecture in college and spent a few years designing houses in the San Diego area. (All of which still stand!!)

In 1989 he moved the family to Hume Lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains outside of Kings Canyon National Park, where he took up sailing and painting to console his longing for salt water and surf. These paintings are a result of that longing and angst. Norm is employed as a resident artist, and architectural designer for Hume Lake Christian Camps.

“I find much of my inspiration here in the High Sierras and on my many surfing travels to my Homeland of San Diego and safaris to Mexico and Hawaii.”
