Charlotte H. Quinn is a Kill Devil Hills native, who grew up on the beaches and in the water of North Carolina's Outer Banks. In 2004, Charlotte decided to combine her love of the water, and the carefree beach lifestyle, with her batiks on silk.
The free flowing wax lines that her Indonesian tjanting tool creates, along with the mixing and painting of the fabric dyes onto silks, is the perfect way for Charlotte to express her love of the ocean and the beach.
The artist currently lives in Kill Devil Hills, on NC"s Outer Banks, where she can be found out in the water with her husband Jim (a surfer and native of Avalon, NJ) and their two children Chris and Savannah (both of which are learning to surf and body board).
